What:
The Annual BENS Hope Suicide Awareness & Support 5K Run/2 Mile Walk event is dedicated to promoting suicide awareness, reducing the stigmas surrounding suicide, and highlighting available support services. Participants are invited to walk, jog, or run for this non-competitive run/walk event.

Registration Options
Registration is required for all participants regardless of age. Participants must register online by Friday, September 11, 2026 to receive a t-shirt. T-shirts are not included with day-of registrations, but limited quantities may be available for purchase. All sales are final.
Online Pre-Registration (deadline Friday, September 11)
Adult/Youth Registration: $30 Includes registration for one adult/youth and a BENS Hope t-shirt.
Adult/Youth Registration without T-Shirt: $25 Includes registration for one adult/youth only. No t-shirt included.
Child Registration (6 and under): FREE Includes free registration for one child (age 6 or under) only. No t-shirt included.
Veteran Registration: FREE In honor and thanks for your service, registration for veterans is free. Please contact us to access your free registration.
Virtual Walker Registration: $25 Can’t make event, but wish to support. No t-shirt included.
Unfortunately dogs/pets are not allowed to participate in the walk. Service dogs are more than welcome to accompany their owner on the walk.
If I register online, can I pay the day of the walk?
No, registration and payment is required to be completed online by the “Online Pre-Registration” deadline. You are more than welcome to wait until the day of the walk to register and pay, but T-Shirts are not included with day-of registrations.
Is this a competitive race?
No, this is a non-competitive event. We welcome participants of all ages and fitness levels. There will be no official timing or awards for speed.
Do children need to pay?
All participants are required to register regardless of age, but children 6 and under are FREE.
Can I pick up my t-shirt early?
No, t-shirts can be picked up the day of the walk.
Can I roller blade or skateboard the run/walk route?
We kindly request that participants do not use roller blades, roller skates, wheelies, skateboards, scooters, or any other mode of wheeled transportation.
Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
Under IRS guidelines, registration fees for the Walk/Run are generally not tax-deductible because participants receive benefits in return (event participation, t-shirts, and refreshments). However, any additional donations made above the registration fee are 100% tax-deductible. BENS Hope is a registered 501(c)(3) organization, and you will receive a receipt for any additional contributions.
Will Run/Walk be rescheduled for inclement weather?
No, the run/walk will take place rain or shine, hot or cold. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
